Women can't be truly alpha, except to other women. There's always a male females have to answer to, whereas men at the top get to be their own boses. I like top dog characters in general male or female, but the alpha female is a purely fantasy construct, which is why you don't see many if them. Japan is actually an anomaly in terms of the amount of "alpha females" its media produces.
