I still don't understand where all this hate comes from. I sure got dissapointed by them underusing some characters but the anime has many great moments and is for the most part entertaining. The ost is charming and the duels were really really exciting. It wasn't as great at the highests of Zexal or Gx but it never ever sinked below the average ygo season.

A good ceremonial duel would have been Ai and Yusaku (both humans) against Takeru and Flame. I think this will be the first YGO that will end without having a MC vs BFF duel. This whole rushing vrains' end made things feel so weird.

If they're not doing something major then it can be segmented without much issue. I just see this differently from watching other shonen that have too much interluding.

Vrains characters when not walking that single track are simply being caught up to where everyone else is if they're not in a coma. Itd be one thing if only yusaku was a reactive character all the time, but in vrains that's everyone besides lightning.

We're talking about interweaving in split up arcs where all the battles are separated into different episodes anyway. This doesn't change the alignments of the characters.

I didn't say I only wanted wow moments, but I fell like i've seen some dumb stuff be shoved into the middle of other characters fighting that wouldn't matter much if it was put somewhere else.

I barely remember anything from synchro besides falcon cannon and crystal wing, because it wasnt quite as spectacularly bad as later arcs but not nearly as good as standard. Unless you count my memory of how ugly the art design and colors tended to look during synchro. I unironically preferred the heartland rubble.
