I got done with this shit a while back.
All I have to say is I enjoyed it thoroughly, I thought the hype was just some meme and it really wasn't as good as people were leading on, I assumed it was some dumb shit with no real purpose.

but god fucking dammit I loved every second of it, the stills, the animations, the fucking story, the THEMES. I literally could not get enough of this shit.

I only made this thread to talk about Eva, and what not, because I want to talk about it and my friend who just got done with it is asleep.

I hope you watched the original dub and not the tranny dub

I actually went through on the jap dub with subs.
I enjoyed Asuka's very Japanese accented German. I thought it was unnecessarily adorable for her character.

Yeah yeah, whatever. Now to the important things: Asuka or Rei?

Class rep.
I bet you don't even know her name.

Good answer. Hikari is the best choice.
And NEVER try to step up like that again.

Please forgive me.
She's such a cutie though, flattest girl too.
I wanna cum on her dumb fucking nose. Too bad all the doujin in the world for Eva, and not a single fucking good one for my girl Hikari.

Be honest, it is better than the early portion of the series

This is the remakes right?
They /looked/ good. Are they worth watching?
I'll do anything for more Eva, even justifying it behind arbitrary means, like "It's animated better" or otherwise.

Please give me all the details on whether or not I should watch the remake movies.

the rebuild movies are their own canon and especially the later movies completely diverge from the series. the first movie is essentially a remake, the following ones change shit.

They're alright

Do they end up reanimating the entirety of EoEva? I need to know. Also how hard do they divert the canon?

Danke, now to find where the fuck to watch them.

Okay well, the first movie is basically a fantastic remake of the first six episodes. Very true to the original but completely modernized. Only has a few, almost ''easter egg''-tier details changed about it. Whether or not you liked early NGE, you're going to like this. The second is where things take a turn, it's still familiar but tons of small plot details are changed, making it feel extremely different. It does this until the ending where you basically get the big twist. I haven't seen the third one in a while but ti feels really grey. Slow, melancholic but kind of pretty. I don't know sorry for writing this. I'm really fucking high right now and I feel like a professor.
>TL;DR
I'm high and I command you to watch them.

>Do they end up reanimating the entirety of EoEva?
They're not up to that yet
>Also how hard do they divert the canon?
There are many differences some minor some major, some theorize they are actually sequels to the original series and EoE.

>Do they end up reanimating the entirety of EoEva?
no, EoE has no relevance to rebuild as of yet.
>how hard
very hard. very very hard.

There's also a LOT more of EVA content in forms of video games, light novels, manga and so on.
For example NGE Anima is currently releasing in america and europe, it's a light novel series in which episode 25 and 26 never happened and Shinji stopped the third impact.
There's Neon Genesis Evangelion 2 for the PS2/PSP which is an incredibly huge life simulator game that lets you play as over a dozen characters, each with their own storyline. Also has additional information about the originals series in form of secret files.

If you want more, go wiki diving. Both EVA wikis are pretty good.

>dub
I vomit

Why do americans belive that watching dubbed anime is somehow the same thing as watching it with the native soundtrack?

So did Nazis win the war in the rebuild universe? Asuka's uniform seems to hint at such a thing.

Ok cool, I'll take your word for it.

>They're not up to that yet
Fuck sake.

>There are many differences some minor some major, some theorize they are actually sequels to the original series and EoE.

Seems ok, I'm sold so far.

Ah fuck, well that sounds nice.

They don't (in my experience) it's mainly for ease of access, being able to look at the shit without having to read.

its just a meaningless bit of promo art, a set of the kids in ww2 uniforms. for one the modern russian military is all over both the series and rebuild which pretty much shoots that down

regarding rebuild

Attached: 1398708664873.jpg (500x277, 44K)

rebuild is actually pretty mediocre visually, very bland and uninspired compared to the art direction of the series and VERY poorly shot and sequenced in comparison, with the exception of some parts of the third one. but just watch it and see what you think.

It was about teenagers being used to cause the end of the world for some godhood plan by people who want to remake it by their own will using Ayy Lmao bio-machines with god-like powers.

But the most important is that there is a difference between truths and the reality.
there is only one reality but a lot of truths.
Shinji's problem is that he believe people like him only for being an Eva pilot, but this is not the reality, just a truth he chosed to believe for himself, he realize that he can decide to be another thing, believe in another truth, a truth where he likes himself, he is not an eva pilot and realize people don't hate him.

being an Eva pilot helped Shinji to meet people and connect with him, but it's not the reason of why they likes him.
>Misato became her new mom and want to protect him.
>Rei discovered that Shinji really cares about her unlike Gendo, and she hate being an eva pilot.
>Asuka discovered that she like him even if he's not what she expected, and also that her identity is not being an eva pilot.
>Toji and Kensuke are his true friends, Toji doesn't liked him on the first place, and the irony is that because he was an eva pilot.

also you can fuse this with the message of EoE about feeling pain to know happiness and love, and also getting out of a fantasy world for the reality, this is not perfect but this is better than remaining on a safe space where you feel nothing, it's basically a critic of escapism.

that's why this show is so great, congratulations to the ones who realized their self-worth.

Good shit user.

Not even close. Episode 1-6 are some of the best of the show, and are far better than 1.11.

>ruin the pacing by cutting out all the breathing space and atmosphere-building
>remove most character moments in favor of flashy action
>stuff it full with CGI and bright digital colors
>better

I agree with what youve said but 2.0 had the aquarium part which i thought was good.

Kill yourself

Yet you still can’t explain why the story was good you parroting drone.
