It selling well and Shueisha wanting to keep him on have nothing to do with him owning the rights to it. Part of it may be that they know if they get rid of him that he could go somewhere else but Shueisha is free to get rid of him if they want even if he owns the brand.
Why is Togashi allowed to take so many long breaks? Not even Oda gets that privilege
Doesn't Shueisha force Oda to take occasional short breaks? Liking what you do to the point of endangering your health is the opposite of slavery. Shueisha would probably want him to take more breaks than he does because they don't want their golden goose to die, but at the same time, even with other moderately popular series, having One Piece gone for any significant amount of time would probably be dangerous for the company.
>More like he's a cuck who's too scared to go against authority
One piece has breaks every couple or so chapters.
Because Oda actually cares for his fans, I won't call one series better than the other, but Togashi really doesn't give a shit about HxH anymore, he only comes back to work when he needs a new car or redecorate a room of his house, he doesn't want or need to work on HxH anymore, half of the content he comes up with is just a recap of the previous batch of chapters, is infuriating how he trat his readers like retards and yet, they are still giving him money, regardles of your opinion on this kind of people, he really hit the jackpot at life, to put it simple, HxH is easy money for Togashi.
>Why is Togashi allowed to take so many long breaks?
He owns his stuff and has a particular contract too apparently.
He's not even the worst case of hiatus when it comes to Shueisha's stuff, Hagiwara for instance beats him hands down since he hasn't made a new Bastard!! chapter in like, five years.
>he owns the manga
What? and the other popular SJ artists do not?
How the fuck was he the only one to manage that?
Apparently Togashi got a raw deal towards the end of YYH so they gave him a good contract for his next manga
He pretty much singlehandedly saved Jump with YYH back in the days while slaving away like a madman, so they gave him carte blanche on his next work, and he accepted, which is why he owns HxH and can do whatever the fuck he wants with it.
Bec he already had a mega successful series before HxH so he had more leverage.
Was Jump really that bad off? Wasn't DB still running? Or was this after it ended?
