I mean, the similitudes are obvious. Smile-man is based on the mexican character "El chapulin Colorado" created by Chespirito (Roberto Gómez Bolaños). His character was a parody of the genre of superheroes who used to make mistakes and be injured by accident.
I just wonder if ONE is actually a real fan of Chespirito work or someone told him to include this parody in his manga. Does anyone have a source or theory on the subject? I would like to read it.
Also, I like that smile-man is having more time on screen in the second season.
Just a reminder that El Chpulin Chicharra Paralizadora(100% Siganme los Buenos) could beat Saitama and Goku together.

Can anyone confirm this? Not mexican but it's been decades since the news been saying how that was part of the Japanese dub that aired back in the days, I mean, if that would be wrong then someone should have said it already.

afaik. that video was made.by.some.guys in a japanese learning class.
and el chavo didn't aired in japan because was something with the potential to make the kids more stupid. which i guess is bullshit.

kek, but burgers aren't ones to talk either, some of you retards actually think anime characters are white because they have blonde hair

I've met with Peruvians in Tokyo and my Jap coworker knows some Mexicans here. I don't see what is so strange about that.
I bet 100% coincidência. I only knew about that character when I came back to BRhue. Protip: I watched Dragon Ball Z, V Gundam, G Gundam, Wing Gundam X Gundam in japanese analog TV IN JAPAN.

what was DC comics reaction to this? did they even knew it existed?
Elijah Taylor
Wow OP. I did not count on your astuteness.

>Can anyone confirm this? Ir's literally in the video description.

Marvel took notice of El Chapulin Colorado mentioning Spiderman during his first airing which of course made them send Chespirito cease and desist letters
A similar situation to that time Kaliman started to use Marvel characters for its covers
televisa have imported shitload of animes back in the day and they exported quite a few TV sitcom back.

They get along well with Mexicans, the last time I remember a Jap user said Mexicans smell funny but they loved the food they make so no one complained.
This is nothing new when you think about it. OPM derives itself from superhero fiction and ONE pulled heavily from familiar stories and archetypes. The manga redraw just leaned harder into that.
Take zombieman for instance; his current iteration is opaquely styled after the comic book Anti-hero 'The Crow' not just because he's a trencoat wearing, and nigh immortal character. But he's got a penchant for very tight undershirts covered in belts and buckles to hold weapons and tools.
