Life being hard on you is a statement true for every individual except for those that get everything. As long as you have people around you who accept you for who you are, you can keep going. Punpun had them even if he thought he didn't. There was no reason for Saki to go out looking for him, talking to his father and trying to understand him if that wasn't the case.
