Only difference is that the MC is an outsider trying to fix the problems that are already present in the town.

Season 1 of One Punch Man. It made use of animation to flesh out a number of the manga scenes really nicely, and also made really good use of music syncing with the animation which is something manga of course just can't do.
Course it was also a ludicrously talent heavy team assembled by calling in years of accumulated favors that will never happen again. It was a brute force method to a quality adaption but damn if it didn't work.
