Let's have a thread for anime that actually had a good anime adaptation. This means: The writers and directors understand what works for manga and anime and don't blindly translate scenes. Show don't tell Staff seem somewhat invested in the work
Looking back at this there is some brilliance in how the director axed dialogue that didn't fit and replaced it with fitting visuals.
>for anime that actually had a good anime adaptation. You mean manga? Also, if you are solely talking about Trust and Betrayal OVA, they actually change some things, mostly making it with more serious tone than the manga, which actually makes it better.
Turn battle shonen shit into a masterpiece. This cannot sumply be described as"good".
Adrian Barnes
The only thing that I don't like is the change of appearance for the characters
Jacob Campbell
It's only portion of manga and one that didn't have that much action or battles. However, they did remove some comedic elements which made it better.
Joshua Foster
Was changed for the tone. I kind of liked it. Remember what kenshin looked like I'm Vol 1?
Camden Sullivan
Slice of life and drama adaptations of series that don't have dumb reactions. Basically stuff that you wouldn't even know were adaptation is nobody ever told you. Little Forest, for example, which has some great cinematography that would be hard to do in anime without crazy budget. files.catbox.moe/ynp19k.webm

Touch's anime is pretty good. Aside from being faithful to the source material, it handles Adachi's signature pacing very well. The directing, the visuals. the soundtrack, etc. are also top notch. It also manages to be consistently good for 100+ episodes.
This is basically an arc of Sakura Quest. The Merchants of the town realize that a lot of people go shopping in the supermarket and stop going to the local shops. Only difference is that the MC is an outsider trying to fix the problems that are already present in the town.
Ryder Baker
I can't confirm the girl's butthole color, though.
Matthew Cruz
>is dead >not a part of a harem >not an obnoxious moeblob or one-note sex object >not underage >doesn’t dress like a slut >no crazy hair color or style >from a nearly 30 year-old property, whose hayday was before zoomers, and penned by a guy who was busted for cp You tell me why there’s so little fanart of her.
Joshua Roberts
How was the Escaflowne anime? Should I just read the manga?
Michael Williams
Gintama 1-265, a perfect adaptation.
Sebastian Jones
But the 2015 season was the best one
Isaac Ortiz
What happens after 265?
Leo Hernandez
Season 1 of One Punch Man. It made use of animation to flesh out a number of the manga scenes really nicely, and also made really good use of music syncing with the animation which is something manga of course just can't do.
Course it was also a ludicrously talent heavy team assembled by calling in years of accumulated favors that will never happen again. It was a brute force method to a quality adaption but damn if it didn't work.
Jackson Wright
>which is something manga of course just can't do. Fucking Murata.
The dream team of s1 isn't behind it anymore. They've scattered after being done with S1.
Joshua Mitchell
pls go and stay go
Connor Parker
Plus JC Staff is pretty shit even taking into account the lower budget and such. They just don't get pacing or humor, which doesn't cost money but does take talent.
Just a reversion to the mean though, S2 couldn't have gotten a dream team together again unless some mega inluential/rich patron was involved or something.
Jackson Phillips
One of the best examples. This is what happens when Anno isn't trying so hard and is just being a good director. It's strangely peak GAINAX style with the comedy and seriousness.
>Unironically naruto. You forgot about the 150 consecutive episodes of filler
Brody Adams
The anime is marked as an original which probably means it vastly defers from the manga. Considering how no one ever discusses the manga it's pretty safe to say the anime has the merits that kept the property form fading into obscurity.
As for the anime, the audio visuals are really good for its time. The story leaves quite a bit to be desired, but it is conclusive and solidly entertaining. I defiantly don't regret watching it.
Liam Powell
With. I didn't see Jewish blood coming, I did see merging the 7 deadly sins.
Samuel Myers
>lower budget Get your memes strait. OPM S1 had average budget. But since art doesn't work like a vending machine it matters a hell of a lot whom you give that budget. The novelty OPM had years ago just wore off for the dream team.
Jace Martinez
It's fantastic, the manga's pretty different more hitomi characterization early on.
Bold opinion I'm guessing you're in every 2003 vs BH thread.
Aaron Carter
Too bad they couldn't have used their talents for a better series than hodge podge capeshit
Joseph Jenkins
Thanks.
Tyler Brooks
Nobody has time for that. Although they are the minority, there are a fair few people who prefer 2003.
Parker Bennett
This is literally the only good adaptation of RRK. I guess that's because the series is actually fairly shitty.
I take it back, some of the live action was good as well
Hudson Anderson
>S2 couldn't have gotten a dream team together again unless some mega inluential/rich patron was involved or something. Trust Murata, he is really trying to make it better.
