I think you need to read some history books if you think tank warfare was this dangerous. Tanks were developed precisely because people desired a measure of safety on the battlefield.
In a well-built German tank, you could sleep like a baby while the driver did the craziest stuff, like driving only on one track, or balancing the tank on the cannon, or swinging from vine to vine or rolling over Russian troops.

I'm just saying, the quality of the characters and jokes, the country stereotypes, things like lack of fanservice (ignoring the bath scenes), etc. make GuP enjoyable. I don't even like tanks that much but GuP captivated me and I've stayed with it for years. I'd love it even if the girls were playing golf or some boring shit if it retained those other qualities.
