It's fucking awful and it started the second Jujube was properly introduced. Before that it was nice fluff about a socially awkward guy getting brought out of his shell by an extroverted girl who liked that she could be herself around him. But Jujube feels like a character from a harem series that never got off the ground shoved into another series where she (and her dumb sister) feels horribly out of place.

She has the terrible stock tsundere personality, she has the "third year high schooler who looks like a first year middle schooler" design and she's largely muscled Kitagawa, the actual female lead, out of the spotlight. And she's not even fucking likable! She's an annoying bitch who's been an annoying bitch and I don't care about her backstory or whatever cosplay facts the author gleaned from Japanese Wikipedia or 5ch or 2chan. I just wanted fluff with Goujou and Kitagawa.

I don't know if this is some shitty move forced by an out of touch editor or if the author is really this retarded.

They also did this dumb "photography 101" bullshit info dump that was a complete waste of time. Anyone with any photography sense would roll their eyes at this, and it would fly over the heads of people who snap pics with their iPhone or Android.

On one hand, no, but straight from the get-go you can really tell that there wasn't much going for it. It's an ecchi series that uses cleaning techniques as a gimmick. Not only are the two themes really divorced from each other, forcing a need to shift from fanservice to cleaning and back again, but there aren't too many actual cleaning methods to showcase.
In Sono Bisque, the cute girls and ecchi blend in naturally with cosplay, meaning they enhance each other rather than take away. That, and there is a wealth of information regarding the subject, not to mention a pool of drama that the author can potential make use of.

Context?

For comparison's sake, let's also take a look at most famous harem series currently running, Bokuben, Go-Toubun, and Gal Gohan. There is a bit of synergy involved in their gimmick to the presence of girls (teaching girls anything is always a plus), but they have already placed their main gimmick into the backdrop to make up space for more harem shenanigans. Not as much of the nitty-gritty is being explained anymore. Bisque is still able to have Kitagawa getting closer with Gojou in the midst of dry exposition, and it still comes off naturally. The need to phase out the gimmick (and give more room for romance) isn't as urgent yet.
