My theory: Wakaba's lying to Riri about there being "grown-ups." He just doesn't want to tell her about what's really happened on the Earth. As an alien he took on a form familiar to her which is why he looks like a human to her. He really is keeping her existence a secret though. Rather than being the "first human" she is in fact the "last human." Wakaba is making a space copy of Earth as part of some kind of extra-terrestrial civilization "archiving" process. He really is just making a copy for the sake of preserving data. Similar to the mushroom people in Girls Last Tour who show up to signify the end.

The scene you posted practically confirms that I was right, given it shows Rin standing where the silhouette that corresponded to her stood.

There's some small boat in distance with strangle high contrast.

So red plant is made from daidai (orange/notebook), kiiro (yellow/gingko lanterns) and murasaki. Murasaki has only just been mentioned now(?), is probably the 3D printer because purple. That could kind of lead in to the red leaves' power, but "write on it" and "it glows" don't seem like they'd create something like this, so it seems like it's the color of the components that matters, not their use. Unless kiiro has some actual use the cast didn't know about and they just used it as lanterns because it also happens to glow.

Also- red leaves look like usuiro, despite usuiro not being involved in its creation... BUT, we have seen purple usuiro-like leaves lying around before, meaning those are probably murasaki and not just off-model usuiro. Sasuga Tatsuki

The basic style is fine.
But there are a bunch of things that are simply "amateur" mistakes. Like compositing errors (image sampling, alpha channel issues), a lot of the animation, especially walking is janky (which is something that animators learn quickly to do right, the outline effect is weird and looks wrong for things that are far away from the camera, there's a lot of clipping and so on.
All of these things mean either that they're very inexperienced or really rushed.
Which is sad, because the storytelling is pretty good. I enjoy it either way, but it could be so much better.

Keifuku-san is visiting various worlds, picking up ideas, cleaning them and packaging them up for delivery to Tatsuki.

It's just a quick and dirty walk cycle on flat ground. No adjustment for the slope, foot sliding, and the interpolation of the loop is off. This is PS1 game level of animation.
I haven't seen KF2 only bits and pieces but I think the models in Kemurikusa and KF1 look better, in that they have much more character. KF2 looks bland.

Yeah, they are really overusing the people-doing-things and the people-talking-trope.

Generally speaking, Its also do to Tatsuki's use of "shots and lens." For your example it is indeed bland (basically a walk-cycle loop), but the viewer doesn't notice it as much. The shot is made to describe the vastness of the root and the smallness of the characters, so the eye is focused around the root's path rather than the character themselves. Also quickly changing to the front view makes most of us forget the last shot.
