For nip art, these swords look pretty good.

Guys?

>be the most powerful mage in the entire world by age 4
>average swordsman can still kick your ass

Rudeus "King Jobber" Greyrat the Quagmire

That's wrong though.

No it isn't bro. The dude has Laplace levels of magic reserves.

He's actually telling the isekaigen lepers to stay away. :/

Don't use emoticons on Yea Forums.

In general swords in MT except for the very special ones here and there, only matter in the sense that they have to be able to be imbued by touki(nen in familiar terms) and not break by its pressure. They're like wands to channel touki.
The water god of the water god style for example can make it 'flow' in every direction at her close proximity making something akin to a net of swords. Not that it mattered against Orsted who she couldn't damage

The dude can barely use emperor tier spells. We never saw Kishirika in action but she's probably stronger.
But yea onlyAtofe's Adjutant was just as good if not better due to experience and if Rudeus hadn't used Ran Ma

Oldeus, maybe. But Youngdeus is pretty weak compared to other powerhouse, he somewhat negate his weakness with his Magic Armor tho. But still, I want Oldeus spin-off where everything go wrong.

Average swordsman is a terminator who can cut bullets mid air or take a full brunt of a bazooka and walk it off.

I think the only advantage magic has over swordsmanship is with their AoE spells. Like if a swordsman and a mage had to stop an army, the mage could stop them with one firestorm spell, but the swordsman would have to swing his sword twice to do the same amount of damage with his canyon splitting slash.

Magic is kinda shitty in this series.

I would say on average magic definitely has more firepower, just the issue is that mages can’t really protect themselves unless they can wear touki like Laplace, since he could alter the cells of his body.

Magic at top tier is always more powerful and can make you immortal like with Orsted’s loop/curse and stuff like god tier spells sounds pretty powerful but we haven’t seen Orsted really cast a single destructive spell in the entire series, he doesn’t even need to and he’s constantly conserving it for the eventual Hitogami encounter.

There's also that gravity magic, that one is op as fuck. Orsted can insta-kill Rudeus with it if it lands, as it shown in their fight, Rudeus would be dead if it's not for the eye hack. I also think that Rudeus can beat Kalmann the Third aka Alek with his family heirloom if he master it. Sadly, youngdeus slack a lot, which makes him weak compared to Oldeus. The only thing that prevent Oldeus from reaching and beating Hitogami himself is Dragon Gods dimension key.

Laplace also split the continent and create that massive hole in his fight against Fighting God with his God-class magic, sad that we didn't get to see more magic of this class.
