So he's being taken away yo be dealt with along with with his cocaine snorting hoe who'd been squatting in his apartment. Rui is currently fucking chef to feel better but then comes back to America to only to find out Natsuo was murdered by the mafia and had his boddy chopped up, preserved in cubes, and then sent to their house. What Rui doesn't know is that Natsuo was actually 「The Boss」the entire time and it was a clone that he sent to their house which was merely a ploy to kill his former identity as Natsuo so he can be 「The Boss」 completely without his past interfering. Only Chef knows the truth but he's in on it and helped orchestrate the entire thing. His role was to help steal Rui away from Nat to give probably cause for Natsuo to do drugs and get involved with the Mafia. Thus setting the chain of events in motion that would formulate the cover story. It's honestly quite a bold direction to take the plot.

The things with tropes is that they need to keep being supported by other tropes down the line. Nisekoi (Onodera; share red scarf, share umbrella, childhood promise), Bleach (Rukia; first girl, red string) had all sorts of flags but ultimetly when elsewhere after the tropes died down one character and went to someone else.
First girl is just one trope and it can mean 2 things. The first girl introduced in the story, or the first girl introduced to the main character that he didn't know before the story began. Hina fits the first while Rui fits the second.
Since, Hina has had the 'in sync' trope, the 'first kiss' trope, the 'visual couple' trope (when people suspect they're a couple just by looking at them) the 'proposal' trope (ring and all), the 'bath hotel' trope, the 'love fireworks' trope (twice), the 'self sacrifice for love' (hina's job, her relationship with Natsuo among other things) trope, the 'die for love' trope (though thats iffy since he lived and was with Rui), the 'devotion' trope and 'always love'.
Rui has the 'first time' trope (sex), the 'jealousy' trope (for both of them when Alex and Momo were involved), the 'high school roof' trope (though Hina almost had that, only Rui got confessed to on it), the 'commitment' trope (exchange watches which she gave back).
But she has as many negative tropes as positive. such as 'Jealousy', 'easy to upset', 'Trust issues', 'in the way of true love' (though suspect until its actually confirmed), "doomed to fail" (long distance, as well as their issues with each other), 'break up' among others.
Hina pulls ahead on good tropes since her only bad ones are 'alcohol', 'doomed to fail' (only because of outside circumstances which are now gone)', 'illicit relationship'(which is over) and 'love from afar' (because of Rui, which is now over).
tldr: Tropes need constant backing to actually mean anything and the good must outweigh the bad. Hina has more good than bad, Rui had more bad than good.

Rui and Natsuo talk on skype and both agree the breakup was for the best and wish each other luck in their love life. Chef or Rui makes a move on another. Starts out slow. Gets hotter. boom: true love.

After the stabbing, Hina confessed that Natsuo dying made her feel like part of her own soul was dying too.
Rui doesn't take time off work, even though she's offered time off to be with Natsuo, and even works over time. She barley helps and only showed up when it was convenient for her. When Natsuo was bedridden, She was not nearly as hysterical as Hina, even as he almost passed.
Wouldn't the stabbing of been her time to shine as the more devoted and loving one for Natsuo? instead she gets put off by her parents 'destiny' talk and instead of being there for Natsuo to overcome and make her the 'destined' one, she lets Hina do it instead.

No, it never works like that despite popular belief, the publisher/editors will stop the authors from going over the line if they ever want to depict some extreme stuff. They can also push for more screentime for popular characters, but they'll never strongarm the author into writing a story they don't want to draw.

The only thing Hina has going for her is looks. She isn't strong-willed, intelligent or mature. If she was she would have never gotten involved with Nat in the first place. She cracks under pressure is bad with alcohol and lacks self-awareness. She only thinks about dick when she isn't getting any. I mean do you guys really think that a woman that couldn't resist a 17 year old kid is wife material?

I am older than Hina dumbass. You describe this character to any actual adult and they would agree she isn't about anything. Her only real personality and motivations revolve entirely around Natsuo. She is not her own character and is mostly a cheap plot device.

Hey user, put the gun down. I just relate to her more and she feels somewhat realistic, although I can certainly see it not being for everyone.
Hina is a woman in her mid twenties who is currently trying to recover from her setbacks in life which everyone have. Sure she doesn't have a huge goal in mind right now but she is at a different phase of life and currently that's not her motivation which is completely realistic as people do go through such problems in life. Also she just wants to help the person dear to her succeed, just like how every parent want their kid to succeed.

I don't actually dislike Rui. She is definitely an interesting character and it would be a bad Manga if that wasn't the case. I just don't like how unstable she is.

She recognized all these things herself and was trying to improve but at the same time she can't hold herself back. When she first started to distance herself from Natruo (seeing each other only once a month) I was interested but then it turned out that she was just expecting Natruo to fix their relationship by himself. Or in other words she wanted him to change himself despite the fact that her problems where mostly inside her mind. Then she ran away, came for a visit and found out that their problems still existed. What a shocker.
