What was Yea Forums's thoughts on Bakemono no ko?
I thought it was pretty good; I loved the bear dad story. The furry aesthetic kinda creeped me out though.

It was good until it fucked itself over with the edgelord twink faggot and his DARKNEEEEESSSSSSS plot.
Still a decent movie but likely Hosoda's weakest.
I will agree I felt that the ending villain was very cliche. It's that trope in anime where if you kill the villain you're some how as bad as the villain. That trope harms my western sensibilities.
Pretty much my thoughts. All the emotional stuff, both with the beast relationship and the real world with the girl, was right up my alley, but the fur aesthetic was really off-putting.
Another of the biggest weaknesses was that the relied to heavily on CGI for the crowds. I feel shitty
CGI crowds in a movies is unacceptable.
I never understood why the girl is right in the middle of the poster like she's the protagonist or something.
I know she isn't even introduced in the movie until half way through.
I never thought about that. I guess they wanted the female audience, which I think in the end worked since it's Hosoda's highest grossing film.
I don't get the "furry" shit this movie gets. Anthropomorphism is extremely common throughout the stories of every culture on earth across all of history right down to disney shit and it's not like this movie got sexually suggestive at any point either, which is more than can be said for the previously mentioned disney shit. I really don't get it the "furry" accusations.
Talk about fake advertisement.
