Kubo didn't forget, he intentionally left her behind because tomboys are shit
She was introduced as Ichigo couple, they were the best pals but she wanted to be something more than a pal, the relationship was supposed to develop further into the series but Kubo LITERALLY forgot her existence until the time skip and then re-introduced her showing bigger feelings for Ichigo but again, forgotten after that, so cruel.
At least doujins exist.
