What Bill Gates is reading now, from 3 standout non-fiction titles to 'every word' written by the late beloved novelist David Foster Wallace

>Although Gates devotes less time to reading fiction, he told the Journal that he plans to read "every word" David Foster Wallace has ever written before embarking on the novelist's masterwork, "Infinite Jest."
>Wallace is known for writing essays, short stories, and novels about everything from tennis to lobsters. The late author's second novel, "Infinite Jest," is an epic comedy about a film - itself called "Infinite Jest" - that is so enjoyable anyone who watches it will become addicted to it, even watching it until they die.
>"I don't start books without finishing them, so starting a 1,600-page book with massive footnotes is daunting even for an ambitious reader," Gates told the Journal. "There are books like that that go around the world several times before I open them up."

I like Bill Gates, he seems very down to earth and genuine. I recommend listening to his BBC Desert Island Discs interview.

OWNED Op. OWNED :3

I’m literally the only one here who said they like Bill Gates. I’m also a socialist, I don’t tend to heap praise on the rich.

Do people honestly enjoy reading non-fiction, non-historical word vomit?
I seriously doubt that you can glean more value from some contemporary “Why you should stop caring about X and learn to love Y” by Generic Name than from an old classic, a biography, or a history book

I hate you even more than I hate that dumb cunt because you should know better while she can't help herself

Sounds like a terrible and rather unpleasant waste of time. DFW has his moments, but those moments don't last more than 30 pages, much less so 1000. I can't fathom forcing yourself to read all he wrote when you can read all of Shakespeare in the same time.

Go for it Bill, before alzheimers catches you

>unfounded DFW worship
ah the intricacies of pseudo-intellectualism

I’ve got a lot of shite non-fiction on my bookshelves I got bored of 30 pages in.

This was the last non-fiction book I really enjoyed, very entertaining and well researched. Kinney is a great writer.

Someone shoop Yea Forums onto the monitor

>he's a good person because he's soft spoken and inoffensive
Sure. And Tom Hanks doesn't collect baby ears. Keep dreaming.

And then I saw a bit about Buffet and DFW above
>A dash of uncle vibe
It’s like hearing people praise Oprah or Obama or something. Lets see them support actual socialism

NOOOO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AA A A
I'M G-G-G-G ONNA COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

….what? :3

All of a sudden you won't shut the fuck up. What happened sweetie? Did you realize that socialism =/= communism also?

>wealth makes one inherently disingenuous
Retarded thought process, though it is true most (b)(m)illionaires are assholes

Haha. My mum is insistent Tom Hanks will be the next big metoo creep, I like him as well.

She did predict the whole Jimmy Savile thing though, perhaps I am too trusting.
