>how fast can you read
Are you 10 years old?, asking fucking gay questions

I’m an English major so I have to read probably a minimum of 50 pages a day, sometimes up to 150 pages. I think I read at least two hours per day maybe. Sometimes I read a lot on weekends to free up the time during the weekdays.

why is that a gay question?

It’s a gay question because there’s no correct answer. If you’re reading YA stuff you can easily read 100 pages in an hour. If it’s Hegel it’s like 15 pages. If it’s something for school you don’t care about you could read 80 whatever the topic. If you just want to savor the sound of the language you could recite it or act it out loud(especially good for poetry or plays) you might do 10 in an hour. PLUS publishers vary. Sometimes it’s 2k words on a page, sometimes it’s 700. Asking about page stats or numbers of books read just seems ignorant of all that. Wine mom’s can read 300 books in a year all of it shit, while a Proust scholar might not even complete in search of lost time. It’s much better just to ask for time spent reading or favorite types of literature.

Depends on the text of course, but say we're talking about something at a high-school/undergraduate level like Dickens/Dosto/Gothic, I can do 100 pages but almost always do something closer to 70. If it's something a bit more archaic like Lattimore-Homer/Shakespeare/Chaucer, forty is my max and 20 is my usual. Still suck at philosophy so 10 is usually my best.

I do not think I could do that unless I were focusing on a genre like weird fiction or transcendentalism. Anything that involves a focus on the interpersonal domain of humanity overstays its welcome after awhile for me. I can handle something like Dostoevsky, Nabokov, or so forth from time to time but not excessively.

>what does Yea Forumss average weekday look like?

>wake up
>commute for an hour
>wage slave for 8 hours
>commute for an hour and a half
>come home too tired and lacking motivation to do anything except mindlessly shitpost
>finally pass out

>wake up
>go to work
>work 8 hours
>get home
>make diner
>play some vidya
>read 1 hour before bed
>repeat

Its not great, but it makes me happy

Well sounds like you wouldn’t enjoying being an English Major! I rarely get tired of that stuff.

Not if I were focusing on a genre like weird fiction. The Anglosphere has a copious amount of good writers in that genre. I do not get Yea Forums's hatred of readers who focus on a few genres.

Just salaryslaving. Feel like I'm living weekend to weekend.

Spend all the time in my room skipping school and smoking premium grade hashish.
Read around 150 pages a day, shifting between one book of literature/poetry and one philosophy.
Dont know how much time i spend reading exactly.
Im quite a fast reader but for comprehensions sake i like to re-read passages and try to extract all the meaning i can.

150-200 if it's YA
25-35 if it's Homer or anything similary archaic
25 if it's dry non-fiction
15 max if it's philosphy

Oh, and my sheduel looks somewhat liek this:
>10:00-11:00AM wake up and meditate
>11:30-12:00AM read
>12:00-2:00PM eat lunch
>2:00PM-3:00PM read
>3:00-4:00PM shitpost
>4:00-6:00PM watch a movie
>6:00-8:00PM learn a langauge
>8:00-10:00PM read
>10:00-11:30PM daily work out
>11:30PM-1:00AM shower and read

> wake up 5:30
> shower/shave/shit/brush until 6:00
> language study until 7:00
> mathematical problems (or chess if i'm not in the mood) until 8:00
> light breakfast until 8:30, then get to university at 8:45
> check/respond mail until 10:00
> work until 12:00, half hour break, then continue work until 17:00
> physics study until 19:00, computer science until 21:00
> get home at 21:15 and read until 22:45
sometimes i blow off the personal study in the evening and go to the local pub or a society meeting or something, but i'm gradually losing interest in most of that.
i read about 30 pages a day, but it depends on the book. if i'm reading some shitty YA fiction that the book club pushes onto me, then I'll probably have 50-100 pages finished per day, just to get it over and done with. if it's something like Joyce, 10 - 20 is more probable.
