Language borrowed from science and medicine has an air of dignity. It is far more damning to call your ex toxic than it is to call her a cunt.

Their point of view is simple: if you call someone--anyone, ever--a "faggot," it's because you're a homophobic asshole. If you call anyone a "cunt" it's because you're a sexist asshole.
