He died.
Just read this recently, and it deserves all the hype around it. Really good children's literature. Why don't we see work of this quality for kids lit anymore?

which translation, bros?

he was just talking to the fox, and fuck off all of you

I read the 1994 Wordsworth edition which I though was great, although might be because the work shone through so well. My French isn't very good and I haven't bothered to check out the original anyways. But so far as I know, its perfectly serviceable. Got it from libgen.

just read it in French, it's not a difficult book.

The movie

Ancient Greek, duh.

Maybe he doesn't know French, user.
He should probably learn tho.

>maybe the real Le Petit Prince were the friends we made along the way
What the fuck did he mean by this?

It exists

>child main character maybe dies, maybe not

Fuck authors for doing that.

Children can handle death as a topic, in fact they need to learn about it, but it should be explored properly and there is some closure. This kind of ambiguity around the subject just leaves kids with anxiety.

Thankfully most kids are smarter than you.

Because escapist books are easier to write and market.

If you take the realistic approach that he died, you open the doors to the even more realistic approach that he was just a hallucination to begin with. If you cherish the story then you have no other choice but to accept that he lived.

the movie was surprisingly very good

Nobody should ever even talk about this book, just read it and remember being a child.

in the end youre either a hat or the snake who ate the hat

ITT: adults

I downloaded it exactly two years ago now But still never watched it

He killed himself because the world is unbearable.

Wait, which movie?

As a kid I always thought he had died, but upon rereading it I've come to think he just left his body behind and his soul travelled back to his planet and got a new body along the way.

>Why don't we see work of this quality for kids lit anymore?
We still do, dumb asses.

>tfw I'm the only person on the planet to dislike The Little Prince

Is there really nothing else to it other than "haha grown ups are silly"? That's like, basic kids show garbage.

That's because you're that abomination between child and adult, the edgelord adolescent.

straight French

I dont remember the ending of this exactly but I dont remember him dying

It is ambiguous, but kids in my experience find no ambiguity, they decide what happened and that is that.
