Though Longfellow is a great poet, and apparently his was the standard, household version of the work in the Americas at the time (back when the US actually stood for something before it decided to smear shit all over its face, put its pants its head and go "wahoo" on the world stage), so it might be actually good, and a worthwhile read for its own, inherent artistic values.
