Hey everyone, The Lit Quarterly is almost complete. It has been sent to the printers and they are supposed to have it finished by the 4th of September, a few days before I leave town. The first edition will have 9 poems and 6 short stories from twelve contributors. Other contributors are editing and developing their submissions for the next edition, planned for December 2019.
I leave town on the 9th, but plan to rapidly ship out the hard copies to whomever requests one. I will bring a few copies on my travels so I can send them from abroad if needed. I ask for your patience and for all previous contributors to please check inbox on or before the 4th to ensure we touch base. I am only printing 75 copies this edition, so if you're interested, please email me at [email protected]. If you are using a burner email, don't forget to check it a few days later...my timeline for departure is extremely tight and I don't want anyone to miss out.

Nah man. All I can hope is that one of the contributors (all of whom have been paid) vouches for me. But at the end of the day, you have to take the leap. I've been trying to set up an Amazon seller account but there are so many hoops to jump through and I'm very disinclined to technology in the first place, so it's become quite frustrating. I am debating whether to purchase an ISBN because it's required to sell on amazon, but I told the printers that I'm just making copies for family and friends. My concern is that if I tell them that I solicited contributions and paid the authors, they would request copyright releases from each author, which I don't have time to acquire for the first edition (since I'm going out of town for two months).

I paid fiction contributors $200CAD each and poetry contributors $150CAD each. I may have to scale that back a bit for word count, but I'll decide that once I calculate the all-in costs of the project. The cost for the first edition will be nominal...like, $10 or less. Just depends on where I'm shipping to. I'd like to get on amazon for the next edition to facilitate the distribution process (probably charging just shipping plus $5 or something), but I have to see what other restrictions there are.

Thanks! Some contributions were just not organized enough. To them, I offered edits/suggestions and some of them ended up in the quarterly. If the author wasn't willing to have a back-and-forth about their work, I didn't print it. But most were willing to hear my suggestions and edits. Some of the submissions are rough around the edges, but if I saw that the author was genuine and serious, I printed it. Everyone who contributed seemed to care about their writing, which was the essential part. The point of the project is to give some structure and motivation to up-and-coming writers, myself included.

Not exactly, but somewhat. I asked each author how he/she liked to be attributed. Some provided initials, others provided a pseudonym, others provided their real name. Also, I asked that they include their age and location.

He's implying that I'm not actually trying to publish new writers, but that I'm scheming to entrap people for their affiliation with Yea Forums. "Glowing" in the /pol/ context implies that one is an FBI, CIA, or other agent of the government attempting to encourage illegal or damaging behaviour to use for sinister purposes later; basically, a the honeypot concept. I can assure you that I'm just a normal guy who wishes he was a writer, with some extra time and money, who wants to do something productive. But then again, that's exactly what CIA would say.

I think I still have some pdfs somewhere, it was fairly decent.
I sent him two poems under a pseudonym and he sent me 300 Canadian pesos. Didn't demand my address or real name or anything, but I guess I'll give them to him to get a hard copy, and I don't really see why glowniggers would bother doing something this long-term and boring on one of the few boards that doesn't regularly try to pull shit on the outside world. I'd expect a fed to theme it on the board's love of Uncle Ted or accelerationism and encourage edginess, but my poems were completely apolitical.

No. Definitely not. At least not the first few editions. This is more to facilitate disciplined and productive writing (for myself as well as other contributors) and to learn about the small press world. Plus, it's a lot of fun.
