>Atlas Shrugged

Poor are bad, m'kay?

This is the opinion of someone who has never read the book

Atlas Shrugged just bad fanfiction. It assumes human ingenuity will solve everything and that society would be a better place if only more intelligent, good guys were rich and in charge of everything. I would think that Allan Greenspan's legacy would have proven just how much bullshit is anything Ayn Rand preached about human behavior.

The rest of the list is either pretty cool or I've no opinion (never read). Glad to King John as above Macbeth (or listed for that matter) for it's also my favorite Shakespeare play. I s'pose I've outgrown Catcher and anything else by Salinger, but I read him at the right time of my life (which is a necessity for some authors, like Hermann Hesse).

>House of Leaves
pale fire: "aahh!! im going iNsAnE!!!" edition

>14. Beloved

this could be a pseud filter list. all titles could be loved for the wrong reasons. or understood as a phenomena on a deeper level and why it is truly an interesting read.

When does Moby Dick get good? I just finished that chapter when Ishmael meets Quequeeg and it was kind of gay but somehow funny.

>tbk, moby dick, sartor resartus in top 5
unequivocally based

Liking Mitch Albloom should be a bannable offense. The rest is just up to taste even though i personally hate Catcher in the Rye

Plutarch's Life of Brutus is superior. I guess it's the source material for the play tho.

Is it possible for a brainlet to make it through #8?
I’ve managed a few chapters and while I didn’t really comprehend much I kinda enjoyed what was there.
I’d liken it to an aesthetically pleasing piece of abstract art you know is supposed to be something beyond room decor, but damned if you can figure out what it is.

this is the most disgusting shit i have ever seen what the fuck is wrong with you

You asked for which books were my favorites. Not which books would I choose to signal my intelligence or earn bragging rights on Yea Forums. I read a lot of Yea Forums's favorites. Moby dick, C&P, infinite jest, all of Plato, Stirner, Neitzche, Wittgenstein, a few others. Come to think of it "The ego and it's own" should have been on my list. But anyway just preemptively clarifying when you dipshit start intellectually dick waving because I would dare mention HHG or three of the four horsemen of atheism. I'm not signalling to you how many benchmarks I've read from the history of western thought. I'm answering what were my favorites.
