I asked because I dont really know much about it. I remember being impressed by some of those 90s rapeprs though, they sounded just intricate and cool, like this novel type of music. I cant remember the names however.

Not that the new stuff I hear on the radio or whatever is bad, it just sounds more like pop music to me. Which is not an insult I like pop music.
