So are there any Literature YouTubers worth following? "Booktube" for the most part is just young people copy and pasting each other, not adding anything interesting to the conversation. It's all about hauls, best books of ___ lists, and whatever else they can think of that isn't doing substantive analysis of what they read. And hey, all that other stuff is fine, but it's not what I want to watch. I'm looking for the book equivalent of a Digibro who, say what you will, at least does more thought provoking content than 98% of booktube.
Booktube
The_Bookchemist once again.
Saw he covered Gabriel García Márquez and instantly subbed. Thanks a bunch, user.

I just tried looking up a review for the Count of Monte Cristo and I watched a few videos. All of them were women and they opened up their videos talking about how long the book is and how they were scared of reading it because of it and the fact that it was published in the 1800's. These people are fucking braindead.
Stop with this reddit tier ‘incarnate’ meme, he’s pretty funny though
Der Literatursnob, as always.
´Literatur ist Alles is the best channel and engaging for litfags. But, its german.
But I mean if you want to be taken serious you must have learned german to read original Kafka anyways.
Steve Donoghue. He does mail hauls like every day, but it's rare that a video goes by where he doesn't go off on some rant. Also he's been doing bookshelf tours so he's a great channel to discover books on.
>Digibro
Kill yourself
How about just reading a book instead of listening to someone else talk about them.

Well that's your mistake user. Why would you listen to a demo that hasn't publish, collectively, more than 5 competent books?

Bookchemist and Better than Food are the only ones that i've been able to watch and give reviews that are actually useful.
I cant understand why most 'booktubers' make book reviews that aren't really reviews. They just tell a bit about the writer and give a synopsis of the book. No point to watch these 'reviews' before reading, so I don't spoil anything for myself and no reason to watch it after, becouse I already know the story.
Danke für die Empfehlungen!
Those are probably not reviews but rather attempts to engage in discussions with other youtubers.
I can only read non-textbooks, non-academic texts when I have someone to talk about it.
The time investment of books doesn't merit the entertainment value and before I read a novel for its philosphical content, I figure I rather read a philosophy book directly. Pleb central, of course.
