A lack of consciousness basically is the same as being dead. So if you're in a deep enough sleep that you aren't aware of anything, what's the fucking difference?
Honestly I'd even attempt to argue that there isn't even really a functional difference between being alive and having awareness but lacking self-awareness, and being dead, with respect to the consciousness. So if I kill a bug, what's the difference? It wasn't even really alive. This is why ahimsa is cucked unless its a tool for self-regulation
