I cannot escape the realization that perrennialism is the truth and we have all been seriously lost on our search for God, having only bits of pieces of real wisdom hidden in our scriptures.
Any book recommendation on this idea?

Yes. Joseph Campbell. Also Jung.
Langan, C.M. (2002). "The Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe: A New Kind of Reality Theory."
Should I read that Huxley book?
I would suggest you avoid this, OP. Langan is your quintessential American charlatan, one of those badly educated autodidacts who has tricked certain impressionable people into thinking he's a genius.
Refute 1 (one) thing he has written or said.
You're asking for Joseph Campbell so read fucking Joseph Campbell.
Here is a socratic dialog he did. It is in text form too and a good introduction.
>things can be proven with math alone
they cannot
No, I'm not going to dignify the work of an obvious hack. I wasted enough time taking him seriously when I was younger.
Read Guenon's and Coomaraswamy's books
How convenient
A prophet is a person who can correctly interpret what God is telling us. Well, actually, a prophet is an interpreter, and a mouthpiece. I can understand the word of god just fine, but not in the sense you think. He doesn't speak in words.
I just don't know if I care to illuminate the truth for others, and become a prophet myself. I've certainly received no instructions to do so. They wouldn't really be listening to god anyway, they'd be listening to me. That's not ideal.
On the other hand, I could make money if I did and screw around and do nothing all day. Except that's basically what I do now.

Here's some more "actual wisdom"

how's the Max Scheler?
It is the mans own sin which affects him, and that only. Applying this principle to himself he declares that the man who is warned and continues to sin can blame no one but himself if he die; but the man who dies unwarned may lay his death at the door of the prophet who has failed.
are you Aarvoll
