a tour de force
>abridged
based!

One of the most fun reading experiences. Honestly spent every spare moment I had for a few weeks reading this. I would recommend not reading an abridged version.

Literally the best book ever written.

It's actually an enthralling read. Enjoy!

The Count of Monte Cristo.

you better not be reading the abridged version

Biguht it thinking it was an elvis biography. Fuck this shit

This.

A long but excellent read, but it needs to be that long. Very intricate plot, one of the best revenge stories ever written.

ancient genre fiction

More like the Cunt of Monte Cristo, haha! Am I right guys?

You could have read 10-50 pages, told us what you think so far and then ask us.

What's the deal with Count in the Luigi Vampa's dungeon and the jailed kid?

Relatable if you ever had the idea of having so much money/power that you were beyond common laws and social status’s

I just started it and it's a fun read
I hope it doesn't turn into a drag

Also my enjoyment is affected by seeing the movie a long time ago plus all the pop culture references to the book. I just don't know how much

Ya nice by Alex Dumbass

They were kinky gay lovers

Luigi was a genuine criminal who the Count was friends with. The Count most likely asked him to capture Albert so that the Count could 'rescue' Albert, so that he'd be indebted to him. It was a part of his plan to get him introduced in Paris and to Albert's family.

It's the only book I finished and felt sad that it was over. It could have been 1000 pages more and I'd look forward to every page

It's never really a drag. The book is consistently entertaining in a way a 1000 page book has no right to be. The movie and references won't impact you much, there is a lot going on so a lot will be entirely new to you.

So I read like 25% of the book a while ago and liked it. Is the rest really just the guy helping people in need and getting revenge? It also suddenly went on a huge tangent with a thief or something and kinda threw me off.

It gets good and keeps getting better throughout. It's extremely consistent.

By far, the most interesting part of the book was his time in prison and subsequent escape.

I don't understand why but that part always fills me with intense energy and a feeling of manly strength.

A lot of scene detail filler and some B Movie tier thrille/r drama action in the best sense.
Solid 8/10

What do abridgments tend to cut?
