Any good books in psychology that discusses how fetishes are a reaction to supressed emotions? I am curious as to why people seem to think fetishes are set for life and even embracing them nowadays. Arent they generelly related to shame and something to overcome?
Anything related to the topic is welcome I guess.

what's your fetish, user?

not op
for my own part my fetishism is purposeful; things i've conditioned in myself to make women more appealing to me than men because i want to breed. the only fetish that afflicts me regards pheromones/aphrodisiacs, which I figure is just some crushed and repressed "natural" sexuality daydreaming about my reason being disabled. psychoanalysis is not hard

You can have all the fetishes if you want

Cd

So this is a delibarate choice no? I take it you didnt develop it when young then? Seems most sexual tendencies develop out of someones own control, but perhaps taking control over it, forcing your associations with lust is a ”healthy” thing to do?
Where did you learn psychoanalysis then?

femdom

Some of my earliest childhood memories are 'fetishistic'. Psychoanalytic explanations involving suppressed feelings or insecurities or whatever make sense in adult human terms, but are a little too convenient and neat and infused with comprehensible meaning and cause and effect. Not to rule them out wholesale. Obviously many fetishes draw from or tap into very powerful kinds of human thoughts and feelings. But when I think of Freud's explanations for say foot fetishism I find them a little specious -- and being a homosexual who thinks of feet as pretty vulnerable things rather than something I feel submissive toward, I can't really relate. I think attractions can also just be brute biomechanics without any deeper social meaning, or at least, they develop and accrue meaning through their interaction with the other elements of a human's psychic and social life. Like a moebius strip.

Could you expand on that? Do you mean that every fetish is a desire? How come people have conflicting emotions toward them?

Fetishes are caused by porn exposure or sexual trauma. They aren't normal.

Impregnation. Although it's arguably not a fetish at all.

This is somewhat my idea of them aswell. Any literature that discusses the process of overcoming that trauma then?

>sexual trauma
Sex is by nature traumatic

I used to think I had all sorts of fetishes or weird kinks and I watched how they became progressively stronger as I got older but they went away when I stopped watching porn. It's crazy how that works.

Well thought out post, but i would like to point out
>brute biomechanics without any deeper social meaning

This is according to freud (which is little understood) an impossibility. Since his sexuality is social.

Almost any of the original books by Freud/Jung at least mention something along this line. Generally they are caused by the smallest things leading to an altered way of thinking, and they snowball into some kind of altered sexual urge. The origin for each one can be something mundane, or some small desire habitually unfed. Not every fetish is some huge warning sign, just causality. Only if it interferes with your life is it something worth analyzing

>they went away when I stopped watching porn
After how much time? I stopped watching porn about 3 months ago, and stopped masturbating 2 months ago, but my CFNM fetish has always been prevalent. I developed it when I was about 13yo and at that time I barely masturbated/watched porn.

Even pic related still makes me horny

Repression is a good thing. Kikes lied to you.

I'm not really sure bu I imagine it can take years. If you think about, they probably didn't develop overnight so you should expect it to take as long to get rid of them. Virtue is a habit.

How can you stop masturbating for 2 months?

>I'm not really sure bu I imagine it can take years.
I'll take your word on it, but to be honest I doubt I'll ever get rid of it. I was never a "sexual" person and I barely watched porn in my youth. Luckily it's not a filthy nor dangerous fetish(It's probably the most inoffensive of them all). Does anyone know what Freud/Jung/Lacan would've said about CFNM?

First, I stopped watching porn, but kept masturbating nontheless. I just layed on my bed staring at the ceiling or with my eyes closed and went at it. After a few weeks of doing that, masturbating became kind of mudane and boring. So I started doing it once a week, and then, stopped doing it entirely because it just felt boring and like a huge waste of time.
Before this I had already tried to stop masturbating but while still watching porn. I lasted about 100 days doing this, but it became unsustainable because the amount of auto-control you need to be have is unwordly, and also, porn kinda emasculates you and destroys the quality of your thoughts.

If you are having trouble with masturbation, one last advice I could give you to make it less adictive and damaging is to pick only 1 famous non-pornographic actress and only masturbate to her. This is way better than masturbating to porn because you don't trick your brain into thinking that you are having sex with multiple partners. At the same time you will begin to feel tired and sick of masturbation and hopefully stop it altogether.

Also, minimizing your free time helps ALOT

Is Hentai ok?

If you need to ask it's probably not.

Thanks. You remember if they go into the process of discovering that specific thing or if they try to ”cure” it at all?

Do you think nofap is harmful in someway? Seems very antihuman to not acknowledge that you are a sexual being at all. There has to be a loving
and healthy way to approach sex with yourself no?

Read Bataille.

Fetish is a learned imprint, it's a monkey see monkey do. This can happen under trauma (if you're molested, you "see" under heightened senses, thus imprint it more strongly). However the stress isn't necessary for the imprint to form, even long term exposure works.

Fap to loli porn, you'll become a paedophile. Fap to gay porn, you'll turn gay. Fap to blacked.com, you'll become a nu-male.

you are a sexual being meant to channel your sexual energy into real people, not costless meaningless facsimiles that have hijacked your biological circuits for sexual arousal

>how fetishes are a reaction to supressed emotions?
They aren't necessarily tho. They are anything from pavlovian responses to things experienced when you were a tween to an actual conscious decision to fap to strange things to healthy instincts backfiring.

>Yea Forums
>fapping to videojew instead of to literotica/asstr

I only have Bible Black on my notebook but I don't wanna delete it.

>Do you think nofap is harmful in someway?
I did think this for a while, but it's definetly not. I think that masturbation is useless in nature, mainly because of wet dreams. When you stop masturbating you'll have atleast 1 wet dream within the first weeks, and that is a thousand times more pleasurable, and it feels way better than masturbation. After a while, you'll end up with a wet dream per month or something like that, so you could call that you new "sex with yourself". It really is not that big of a deal, you'll see how it changes the way you act and feel in really small ways, to the point that you won't need masturbation at all, either because having sex becomes easier or because you don't really crave it that much in the first place.

>You remember if they go into the process of discovering that specific thing or if they try to ”cure” it at all?
psychoanalytic treatment. the circumstances of the origin of the fetish would likely not be accessible to conscious thought without analysis.
