I seem to be reading them all out of order.
Started with the last one Moominvalley in November, then I picked up what I thought was the first, chronologically, Finn Family Moomintroll, then just went for Comet in Moominland. I donno anymore. Probably make my next Moominpappa at Sea

Do you buy the books? I was gonna try and look for them on libgen but there not there. I feel like a physical book is the best way to experience it but I also don't have a lot of money to spend on non-essential books.

No, you should not read the last two out of order. You can read the others out of order though. Moominpappa at Sea and Moominvalley in November should be read in order and at the end because they build into one another for a kind of finale.
My favorite so far has been Moominland Midwinter btw. Also, do you know any literary agents that you could give me a referral to?

They're on Amazon. I do own all 9 books. I kind of don't like the look of the Great Flood and recommend just skipping it, which a lot of people do. Just start with Comet in Moominland and read the rest of the 7 in order:
