I haven't cried so much for a book as for this one
I haven't cried so much for a book as for this one
daddy issues
all the best cowboys got them
What's this about? Have gotten interested in Russian literature lately
it is a wonderful, lively little book, but sad. I believe I shed a tear or two as well, user.
It's a small book of about 200 pages, definitely worth reading
nihilists vs russian boomers
Fuckin nihilists, man.
turgenev's sketches from a hunter's album is an amazing compilation of some of the most tender work i have ever read. particularly Living Relics.
I cried at the end of Brave New World. Doea that make me gay, desu?
only if your balls touched
Turgenev is great for feels. Not afraid of a satisfying emotional ending, which is no bad thing
Why did you cry for it? What happened to it?
Essentially about a friendship between two exceptionally bright schoolboys, one of whom insists on his being a nihilist (and plays the part very well). Generally the family atmosphere is loving so what all happens is really sad. Real sense of the brevity of life in this one.
Nihilist blown the fuck out by pussy
Yeah but why were you crying for the book? Did someone do something bad to it? Was it abused? What happened to it?
>this book made me cry
what? did it grow arms and punch (you) in the eye, user? Or, how did it compel or 'make' you?
>etc.
....
It isn't that difficult to give an ESL or an awkward writer the benefit of the doubt here, user. Try it sometime.
But I can only give someone the benefit of the doubt if I'm willing to admit he might have been justified in doing something wrong. Was it you who hurt the book user? It's okay you can talk about it.
Which translation should I read?
>this guy doubling down on a joke which fell flat hours ago
How come Turgenev wrote such short elegant novels compared to his contemporaries? Not just the other Russians, but most 19th century novels are huge, but Turgenev keeps his so tight and concise. I feel he's aged better because of this
Cliff notes of Dostos Demons
Bumping for this.
Fuck bazarov

Hm. Perhaps youre on to something here. Maybe. Maybe opening one's mouth to talk about a book or to pick up a pen or in this instance to type about a book is to do it *unspeakable* damage. Yes. Youve turned the tables. I'm surely guilty.
i never thought it was that sad, wasn't really arsed at the end when you know. In fact, i very rarely get sad from books, not sure why.
decent novel though, good length. the nihilist lad was interesting and i liked his battles with the old fellas
