Is he a meme?
Why don't you read and find out?
If you have to ask, yes he is.
Yes but his books are cozy
Should get the nobel prize IMO
Kafka is very cozy and interesting desu.
comfiness: the writer
Read The Elephant Vanishes an decide for yourself.
Yes, but not a bad one. I enjoy settling into a comfy chair, putting on some music, and reading his books. It's sort of a cozy, dreamlike feel
I enjoy some of his works.

He is in the sense that many of his books are quite similar. Enjoyable reads, nonetheless.
This
Read one of his books and you have read all. He has a formula and that's it.
It's a nice formula, though. I like to read something of his every 5 or 6 novels I get through. I know what I'll be getting, but I also know I'll enjoy it.
Wild Sheep Chase and Dance, Dance, Dance are his best.
I just started Killing Commendatore, but I have a really good feeling.
In my country this man is nothing
What's your country then?
I read through it as soon as the English translation was out. I really enjoyed it, in terms of the story's quality I'd probably put it towards the upper end of what he's come out with.
A couple hundred pages longer than it needed to be, but I really didn't mind.
He's a great comfy read.
2019 has been a good year. If Murakami and Pynch get the Nobel it'll be even better.
Or Pynch and whoever. I just want pappa Pynch to win it before he goes. ;_;

Probably Japan? There's a meme going around that Murakami isn't liked there because he "tries to be too Western."
What did you learn the last time you posted this exact post?
Reading him is a gateway to great pussy, seriously. Intelligent girls love his books
Yeah I know what you mean about length, It felt longer than it probably needed to be, but honestly I could have happily lived inside that little world even longer.
> There's a meme going around that Murakami isn't liked there because he "tries to be too Western."
It's not a meme. Not only because his style it's actually more like latin american magical realism authors but because he actually says he's obsessed with american culture in the book "What I Talk About When I Talk About Running".
I mean I really like his books but as a person I can understand why everybody in japan, being so nationalistic, hate him. Including me.
is this the 1000$ guy?
why do people hold the globalistic tnt price in such high regards?
Yeah, I definitely don't want it to seem like I meant it should have been shorter, just that it was noticeably more "padded" than some of Murakami's other writing, if that make sense.
I enjoyed it a lot though, it was like slipping into a comfy dream state for the length of the novel. I definitely thought it was better overall than 1Q84, probably in my top 5 that I've read of his.
