Probably. If done right, the cover can give you a general vibe of the book. At least to me

I honestly don’t see how it’s a bad cover. It’s probably a better rendering of Gollum than the movies depict. :3

That illustration for Harry Potter reminds me of The Edge Chronicles.

Anything that just has a real life picture with nothing else to it is an awful cover and I don't care if it's a fucking cooking book or something about botany, put some thought into it and make it, it's a book cover not a PowerPoint slide.

Bilbo was always described as fat and middle aged, if anything the guy on the cover is a bit too young.

Ive actually always liked it. They are fighting like mongs, and the lettering could be better, but the picture is aesthetic af
