The guardian calls out the zizek-peterson debate...

the guardian calls out the zizek-peterson debate, says they didn't address the "rise of china" which will make all their arguments obsolete and that "neither can face the reality or the future."

I can't believe im agreeing with the fucking guardian

>Watching Peterson, I was amazed that anyone had ever taken him seriously enough to hate him.
the guardian is savage

Anyone who thought this was going to be a "meeting of the titans" should be ashamed and their opinions immediately discarded. Also, if they expected (specific question) to be answered maybe they should actually READ the mountains of material written on the subject.

> If Peterson was an ill-prepared prof, Žižek was a columnist stitching together a bunch of 1,000-worders.

thats every zizek talk hes ever done and nobody should ever have expected differently

Zizek clearly warned against the unholy alliance China has formed between capitalism and authoritarianism (so called capitalism with Asian values) and predicted that without radical new ideas for political organization we can expect a future like a la China/Singapore. This is boilerplate Zizek. Based Guardian being as illiterate as Peterson.

well he is a failed novelist, might be a bit jealous of both these guys

>says they didn't address the "rise of china" which will make all their arguments obsolete
Yes Zizek did and literally does in every talk he's made in the past 10 years. It's one of his most common arguments

Let me speak down to and show I didn't pay attention to two popular figures to elevate myself.

the guardian is the best publication put out by the uk by a mile

Lmao isnt this just that song

not exactly a high bar

Aren't they neoliberal centrists?

They can’t face reality (And by reality, I mean my reality).

Yes lol, he was listening to too much Duran Duran

damn, the others must be really bad

Greedy capitalists are like beasts? Havent seen that theme explored before.

technically branded as centre-left but not unusual to see some far-left progressive stuff being pushed; overall they're pretty mediocre with a hint of good journalism from time to time

Yes its a bland milquetoast liberal paper full of nonsense. The fact its the best should tell you how shit every other media outlet is, newspapers are probably more used for holding fish and chips than getting information from.

hey bongs of lit, can you explain us where guardian fits, is it middle class pseuds or what?

Read the thread friend, this has been answered. Its mediocre centre left with a lot of lame liberal hot takes

zizek talked about china

Name a single better newspaper.

"julian assange's case makes it clear that rape cases are secondary to multiple nations security interests"

Which paper didn't accuse Corbyn of anti-semitism?

>rape and sexual assault charges used as a means to get Assange extradited to the US
>women's rights used as an means to an ends
>thus secondary to political games
Seriously, refute this.

>Zizek closed out the debate by saying don't be afraid of political correctness.
>The guardian is the most prolific advocate for political correctness in existence
Wow, The guardian didn't like the debate. Who could have seen that coming.

I always assumed it was their NY Times, except slightly more to the left because America is to the right of virtually all other Western nations.

The equivalent of the NY times is The Times/Sunday Times.

Guardian is far left. There isn't any popular US equivalent.

>Guardian is far left.
WAT.

Nobody ever believed that Assange raped a thot anyways. The girl is implying that there's a victim.

she wants you dead user

actual kek, stupid bitch

These people are the ones stupid and single-minded enough to go into politics and become policy makers

Attached: 1524196989553.jpg (400x389, 23K)

the NYT are playing several games at once, because of who runs the publication

>anonymous social media accounts
Dude, what?

friend, even IF this harmless labour MP did want you dead, my question is, "so?"

the world is an insecure place. this isn't a bad thing, it's always been like that. people wanting to harm other people is just part and parcel of life.

the trick is not to give into fear and just enjoy life anyway. whats the point of living if youre not even going to try and enjoy it? sitting all the time in fear and worry of "the other" is a good way to let your life pass by you...

>America is to the right of virtually all other Western nations
Haha yikes, imagine seriously thinking this.

Leave it to j*urnalists to be dumber than mongoloids on Yea Forums.

These are logically consistent. Not even a difficult stretch.

>without radical new ideas for political organization we can expect a future like a la China/Singapore

and your children raped and brainwashed, probably thinks it's funny

>they didn't address the "rise of china"

Apart from the fact that Zizek did address it, that's pretty rich coming from The Guardian - the bastion of neoliberal/ neocolonial apologists who spend all of their time shitting on socialists and propping up thinktank hacks and multinational corporations. And then they have the audacity to wonder why the West is flagging behind while sensible free markets which are properly regulated (by authoritarian means) are pulling ahead. Pure capitalist economies are totally, irreversibly fucked - why doesn't The Guardian ever address that? Probably because they're infested with SJW types who took intro2economics as a module in their BA in Gender Studies. You want to address the rise of China? First:

- remove the constriction of patent law
- outlaw tax havens
- tighten lobbying laws and outlaw foreign lobbies (ie: AIPAC)
- root out systemic nepotism and corruption
- half military funding which inevitably gets pork-barreled into disaster projects like the F-35

yes, but he has no response to it. He can only admit that it's highly effective and that our options seem to be:
>go on as we are and lose to it i the form of china
>embrace it and fight fire with fire

they're probably thinking of "randomtwitteruser69", but yeah, pretty retarded all around

i like the cut of your gib user

I fucking love the fact that zizek and peterson just became buddies and were having fun.
lefties and righties and the establishment is mad and this is amusing.
Also never forget to kys.

the 'establishment' already hated both these guys for being le white men who said bad things about protected classes

No, his whole position is that we need to stop trying to change the world and instead step back into theory because we no longer understand the world we are trying to change.
