They're both just superficial, stylized justifications for our actions, behaviors, and choices. Aesthetics are to art as ethics are to politics and vice versa. They're both just pretenses essentially.
>ethics and aesthetics are the same thing
Irreducible aspects of human existence, in other words, essence.
No you fucking idiots, he's saying that proper ethical action is also proper aesthetic appreciation. This is basic shit you abortions
who knew Mishima was an analytic philosopher?
That truth, beauty and virtue are branches of the same tree
Good looking things are the truth
Look at keats
“Beauty is truth, truth beauty, —that is all / Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know”
If you yourself truly deem something to be good it just means you think it's aesthetically pleasing in some way. So if the morality of an individual wasn't so much impacted by the society around them, their moral values would be free; as wild and diverse as their aesthetic tastes. His books with "mentally disturbed" protagonists serve to illustrate this. Thinking our modern civilized morality is somehow objective is a fucking stupid meme and Mishima was able to dab on this retarded conception excellently.
He touches on this in 'the temple of the golden pavilion'
What did Mishima mean by saying "whereof one cannot speak, thereof one should be silent"?

Nips don't believe in essences you fucking dumbshit Anglo.
Seems like an excuse to be a degenerate.
Your ethics are just an excuse to not act like a degenerate, because its either in your nature to engage in degeneracy or it isn't.
>Beauty is truth, truth beauty,

Fascism and suicide are the only consistent political positions
