Anyway, I don't necessarily see a problem with the schools dealing with "sexist" works, but simply removing them is not the way. Why not move them to another section and let slightly older kids read them and reflect about what they mean and how society have changed?

The reason isn't necessarily wrong. We, especially as children, are shaped by what we are taught. This being said, stories like Little Red Riding Hood are fairly innocuous considering that that isn't all that children are being exposed to. Additionally, the "sexist" ideals that they are trying to avoid aren't a part of the fundemental ethical lesson that the books are trying to convey. I'm not for censorship of classics like this, but an irritable culture is going make changes like this. I suppose we can hope that this type of culture won't reflect too far into the individuals within it.
