oh no a building catching fire. truly the west is dead
>failing this hard at symbolism.
No, the West 'died' 200 years ago.
This is more like the putrescence of the corpse, but applying symbolism to the event either way is cringe and trite
O yes they absolutely have the finest covers, Anna Karenina’s Spanish edition
>Muh wood
>No red badge
I don't recall any magic tricks
Are people making some, or do we not like this sort of thing anymore?
>lol why do you spergs care about this building you've never even seen it and it has nothing to do with you
*frog billionaire pledges ~100 million euros for renovation*
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
why are you """people""" like this
Who are you quoting?
It's a minor loss of some old well documented wood. I'm glad no one was hurt and I know they'll replace it. I give no reees.
I do wonder if it's a political ploy to dampen the Yellow Vest protests in time for Easter. Certainly how the Beeb is playing it
>tfw listening to the audiobook right now
>tfw the part where the IRA attack the hospital and one IRA gunman literally gets his head exploded by a sniper
Nvm it appears I’ve missed the point
this is his best imo

They look rather gay to me.
This one's pretty good
one from an old thread that made me lol
>Centuries old art is just wood
You're only saying this because it's a cathedral, and to you nothing religious can have any value
no its just reacting to the reaction. if alt-right and drumpf were cheering on the cathedral fire the narrative would be inverese
that should be War and Peace
This was the point when I realized the thread was garbage.
It's a roof. Sad loss of a nice piece of historic art, nothing to cry over.
>Special needs child
it's incredible how such a steaming turd of a book was the basis of the literal GOAT tactical shooter
Lame
people sometimes have emotional connections to a place. Chill the fuck out with your autism.
It’s an irreplaceable piece of history and culture you fag
Every building, and every person, is "irreplacable", and all of them eventually pass away. Nothing new about that.
Solid.
That afternoon, Albert finished packing and decided to go for a walk. He thought it would be nice to have one last cup of coffee in Paris before he left the city, possibly forever. He loved his city but had seen it become the vanguard of a crumbling civilization; the peak of cultural relativism and social decay. He had seen the superficial charms of the city - comfortable cafes and bookshops resting in the shadows of palaces and cathedrals - become ominous portholes to the future of the country and the west, infested with people who spoke loudly and ignorantly about things which did not matter.
As he turned onto Rue Valette and looked to the north, a plume of black smoke filled the sky above the buildings. As he got nearer and nearer the source of the smoke, he thought he might as well turn around, go home, and try to sleep. As if the world had decided that Paris needed a more concrete symbol of her self-destruction, the Cathedral Notre Dame stood aflame, its spire tilting on the brink of collapse, orange flames and black clouds barreling up into the heavens.
Albert stared at the scene for a few moments then turned around and walked back to his apartment. Sadly, he realized that he had had his last cup of coffee in Paris long ago.
This one always triggers me.
kek
Except if you pass away everybody is happy and if the Notre Dame passes away everybody is sad
That’s the joke
I’m chill. That’s the problem some people are having. I’m supposed to be in tears too. I was as upset at ISIS wrecking those sites in Syria. I was just more upset over their beheadings.
source?
Watch out we got a big brain post modernist here.
I’m sure our pre-literate ancestors knew this op, user
>I was only pretending to be unfunny
Oh ok.
All those linked aren’t mine. You’re pretending to be offended at lame humor. That’s twic as lame.
Most the photo covers are pretty lame imo
I don't really care, you're just dumb and unfunny, that's all.
this is lovely
Normally I’d berate you for tripfagging, but it seems you don’t have a sense of humour either, maybe it’s time to get back to the books chief.
Nice aesthetic here.
Quite good, user
Looks kinda like a Carl Larsson painting.

That's right. It's his.
I chuckled.
>Picks all the ones made by Anonymous
But what did you think of mine?
The cover for Orlando Furioso part 2 is absolute shit, so I made a better one
Here's the original. What were they thinking?

Read that book maybe 15 years ago and I still remember how he symbolizes his head being exploded to a rising water fountain.

Unironically some pretty cool rule-breaking negros.
>"He's cool and he flaps his lips at the policeman, strutting his way through the urban landscape he doesn't answer to anybody. Recently emancipated and without question not facing a single degree of discrimination at this point, now fully an equal, without any kind of oppression facing him whatsoever the 1952 Cool Rule-Breaking negro answers only to himself. What is it about these beasts that they can't control themselves?"
>from 1952 essay "The Cool Rule-Breaking Negro" by Adam Friedland and Bill Buckley, published in Harpers Bazaar/The National Review
cursed image

I always start this book but then get sidetracked and have to start over.
>steaming turd of a book
The book was not that bad. Was a little goofy with the eco terrorists trying to kill everyone at the Olympics but still
