No, it's the /pol/tards. For some reason hordes of them came to Yea Forums after the NZ shooting and the board immediately went to shit.
I think it happened because someone linked a Yea Forums thread talking about the manifesto to /pol/. That's the only reason I can think as an explanation. Yea Forums used to be a very slow board, but now it's filled with dumb garbage threads constantly created by /pol/ crossposters. Just look at the catalog now.

It was simply bizarre, this drastic overnight shift. It's as if our precious board one day woke up transformed into a disgusting overgrown cockroach. All we can hope for is the metaphorical apple in the back to put it out of its misery.

I've been on this board for a while. "omg /pol/ is invading/" has been a recurring occurrence.

could it be governmental institutions trying to destroy one of the only 'free' place on the internet? I'm not saying Yea Forums is where new ideas are born, but it's certainly a place where they are shared.

Seriously, this. any sincere contribution just gets handwaved by some guy posting a 2 word reply like an edgy zoomer. well, it isn't all that bad. it's so shitty here that I'm quickly losing interest (all of Yea Forums honest to god, the last year has seen a complete erosion of whatever quality had remained). I'm actually spending more time reading and writing if nothing other than from boredom.

I have been here for almost a year and either the quality of the board has sharply dropped or I just noticed how shit it is. Since that whole butterfly drama my visits are only restricted to checking the catalogue once or twice a day and realizing that there's no quality content. Yea Forums is pretty much on par with Yea Forums. Most posts are just a picture of the philosopher of the months with the text "lol what a brainlet" attached to it. This might be the worst board on Yea Forums due to the overall smug and pretentious attitude of its users who are ignorant of their own ignorance.

What you are witnessing is the ADHD epidemic in action and the gradual decrease in IQ in western countries. In a couple of years I doubt the average poster on Yea Forums will even be able to get their knowledge from youtube or wikipedia.

As someone here noted, zoomers are taking over the internet. I hate social media, it's a dead end.
Today I got a warning. I'm a genuine, traditional Catholic and on a thread about Catholic lit, I had just mentioned sedevacantism (and, ironically, there's a LOT of great literature on this topic). So thread was deleted and I got a warning that my post "was not about literature." Well duh, I referenced several authors in the post. I think the problem was with my "ultra conservative" point of view. So, I'm happy to leave here, too. But where can we go?

Sedevacantism disqualifies you from being a Catholic, and the Roman, Greek, Russian, Syriac, and all Churches in communion with the See will refuse you too for rejecting apostolic traditions. Basically, you got banned for not calling a Protestant a Protestant, a clear sign one can't read. You can go to any board that won't insist you use a dictionary.

The last time I came here with any regularity was 2015. Yea Forums then was a shadow of its former self, but even then it was a beacon of light and promise compared with what I see today. Nobody seems to know any literature other than the 20 memebooks of the month, even the memes are weak, and an already slow board has become glacial. Yea Forums is dead, I'm afraid

I know, and I don't know where to go. I deleted all my social media last month. Yes there are private facebook groups but I hate the interface. I hate instagram. I almost want an old forum site or mailing list site, private, for like 20-40 individuals. The problem here with lit is there's a lot of noise, a lot of dumb talk about memebooks and your typical crap, and when some obscure but good book is brought up there's nobody who can talk about it intelligently and these posters aren't into reading it, they just like their memebooks. This place is dead.
