I take it her logic is something like: "the written word enforces a homogeneity of expression and diction that unfairly marginalises non-whites, since they have their own manners of speaking that fall outside of this"
If this is the case(and I think it is) she seems to be ignoring the fact that just as many, if not more, white subgroups and ethnicities speak a nonstandard form of English. In fact, I am confident that there are more dialects of English spoken in Ireland and Britain than anywhere else in the world, and the speakers are 90% white. Also, these dialects have overwhelmingly more diction and grammar variations than American black or other minority dialects. But having a standard that is adhered to doesn't "force" anyone of these people to give up their own manners of speaking; it just ensures that English doesn't fracture into mutually unintelligible written forms that make communication impossible.
