No. In fact, I even prefer some of mine.

I'm not your bro, my dude.

What a shitty name desu

By what criteria?

idk, but the longer it lives on, the stronger its point becomes

candy-ass Ozymandias

it's a common sentiment in world literature

what?

the idea of something gaining value as it stands the test of time or Shelley's point on uncontrollable legacy?

well, both of those
but I meant the latter

Even Gilgamesh talks about those

crazy that shelley did it better than _____

But he didn’t....

>claims its better
>literally can't read original language

nice assumption there kiddo :)

Read Petrarch.

>ababacdcedefef
what the fuck was his problem

Ironically this, or I should say, unironically not this.
The life of the poem (to this point at least) stands in contrast to the subject of the poem (viz the transient nature of Ozymandias' dominance).

why do you make such a claim but are too pussy to post one

who are you quitting?

user's referring to the rhyme scheme of the poem

No. The best sonnet of all time is objectively Shakespeare's sonnet 18.

You absolute dip

>Ozymandias
Tennyson's Ulysses is ten times better.

"And on the pedestal these words appear 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty and despair!'"

My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!

This line was used as a quote in Civilization IV once you discover the Construction technology. It was read by Leonard Nimoy.

This game had arguably the best quotes ever featured in any of the Civilization games, and voiced by Leonard Nimoy was the icing on the cake. Quotes from the expansions were read by Sid Meier himself and although good quotes didn't have the same impact.

here is a video with all the quotes, it's pure gold:

What should I eat for dinner, guys?

It’s probably the most interesting sonnet in terms of rhyme scheme. I’m of the opinion it’s the best sonnet. I’m not a huge fan of Shakespeare’s sonnets. They’re too formulaic on the level of content.

the most Yea Forums sonnet ever written:

>Study is like the heaven's glorious sun,
>That will not be deep-search'd with saucy looks;
>Small have continual plodders ever won,
>Save base authority from others' books.
>These earthly godfathers of heaven's lights
>That give a name to every fixèd star
>Have no more profit of their shining nights,
>Than those that walk and wot not what they are.
>Too much to know, is to know nought but fame;
>And every godfather can give a name.

lmao that's not how the alphabet goes dum dum

Possibly true but it's not really making the same point.

neither are you. and aren't they? one is about the futility of greatness, the fleeting nature of existence. the other is about resolving to overcome the tyranny of old age, because great deeds are left to be done even when we think our strength has failed. they're both good, but which one is uplifting to actually accomplish great deeds?

Ozymandias had cute feet desu

wat

It's actually Shakespeare's sonnet 27

Worst erotic sonnet I ever read.

Fleming Helphenstine, by Edwin Arlington Robinson, on the other hand...

the what? he just quoted a bunch of giberish letters?

too bad there's no way you can prove it. what'll you do now?

Lmao, nice bait.

>uncontrollable legacy
what the fuck, the poem is a lyrical vanitas

I wish I could quit you.
