I would like to read this book but I have a few questions first. Unfortunately the book has gone out of print, since it is such a good textbook. On amazon the lowest price I can get it for is ~£500. Does anyone know where I can buy this book cheaply?
Also, is the earlier 1967 edition any different to the 1985 edition? I know it has fewer pages but I am wondering if there is more content in the later edition.
Finally, does anyone have a pdf of this book available to share?
I have it. It's not good enough to spend more than $20 on it. But it's a good book for a critical thinking textbook, covers a lot of things. I don't have a pdf of it, and I don't know if I want to go through the effort of scanning it. Would take me all day.

Honestly, you should consider a print alternative. Are you trying to get this book because you fell for a Yea Forums meme?
Dylan Sanders
why the fuck would you buy a book about critical thinking ahahahaha

There's a reason it's out of print. Those are the skills that our masters and powers that be don't want citizens to have. If 'Murikunz had critical thinking skills, the current power structures would have never been allowed to exist. As it is, dumbasses are easily manipulated by memes on social media.

>£500 Does this book really sell for that much? Or is that just people being hopeful? Used book store here had a few copies in the $10-$20 range last I was there, it looked interesting but not interesting enough to spend $10 on, but hey, could be easy money.

you'd have to be a retard to buy it for that much

Is the book any good?
Ethan Robinson

Gavin Butler
Yes. Could you recommend an alternative?
Luke Murphy
Dunno any book that covers as much as Moore, sorry.
Brandon Price
fuck it, I've got nothing better to do all day, I'll see if I can scan all 350+ pages and turn it into a pdf. dunno how I'm gonna host it, but we'll worry about that later.
Not going to lie, it was tough getting the pages to scan on my shitty scanner without damaging the book. There was a learning curve involved, and it's pretty time-consuming. Got the first 15 introductory pages in, mostly the table of contents + preface. I'll work on 50 more pages later today, and then hopefully a pace of 50 pages a day.
In the meantime, I'll post the first ~15 pages so people can get a sense of what's in this book. Expect a pdf maybe in two weeks if I stay on schedule.
This is amazing. You're doing god's work. Let us know when it's finished

Why does this book matter?
Isaac Ward
Because somebody mused about what exactly is critical thinking a long time ago and tried to break it down into its constituent parts. He wrote up a book list, and featured this book on it. A lot of self-improvement obsessed people have been trying to get it since. It's not a bad book, judging at the table of contents it seems very thorough, but certainly we can find a more accessible replacement, can we?
