Why were the 2000s such a better decade for music than the 2010s? The 2000s gave us Sweet Trip and Have A Nice Life; the 2010s gave us what--CHVRCHES? Candy Claws is probably the best of the decade, but is that all we have to show?

The avant garde has been to busy grandstanding to bother with progress, and they are the community that generally pushes the mainstream, there have just been to many opportunities for easy attention. It happens every so often and it takes some time to see what is actually great, we are surrounded by it all and living it, time will show that there was some accidental greatness that really shows what the decade was about.
