i read it every few years--yes, i am one of *those* guys.
i don't want to say too much, because so much of the joy in reading it is in the discovery. and i don't mean all the misdirection, easter-eggs, and little epiphanic cul-de-sacs wolfe leads you down. that's so much dazzle over cheap chocolate. at the beating heart of the book, though, is something rich and gorgeous, like burnished bronze seen through blood.
