The CCII tour was a fucking revelation. Anybody go to any of those shows?
The setup was insane, they had just a line of industrial strength strobe lights behind Ethan (DJing from a laptop), a live drummer, and Alice limping around with a bottle of Jack (at the time I thought it was fake theatrics but later learned that no, she was actually an extremely sick alkie in the middle of an abusive relationship with Ethan), and a drummer from a Toronto punk band I can't remember.
No light unless thes trobel ights were gonig off, which often would be a sort of chaotic pattern that would cause complete disorientation on some of their anarchic synth breakdowns and do softish patterns on the verses/chiller parts of the set.
Fucking loud and aggressive. Great stuff.

I went to one of their gigs in Amsterdam and it was a lot of fun. The crowd was wild too. I mainly remember rolling on molly and everybody being in this state of violent intimacy. Little moshes would erupt and you'd get thrown around; next thing you'd know some girl or guy was moving up against you, until another mosh would take you away again. I think most people were off their heads. Great stuff indeed.
