Any other major country in the West has far better schools of translation than you, so the amount of good shit in foreign bookstores is vastly superior.

I think you are honing in on "Anglos" neurotically. Most people who make these charts will feature a predominance of writers in close proximity to their own culture. The proportion will vary depending on the number of speakers of their language and literary traditions, but the ratio in question is more likely to reflect that sort of thing than snobbery... This is due to the quantitative (maybe also qualitative?) lack of translations. In turn, the scarcity of translations is due to an arrogant assumption that other countries are "irrelevant". And be aware that I'm not talking about Ghana or Bolivia, I'm talking about Russia, China, India, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, etc. There's no other way I can explain the insane predominance of white Anglo male authors on this fucking board.
