Who's the Noel Gallagher of literature?
Who's the Noel Gallagher of literature?
Bukowski
Thom Yorke is objectively better than Noel Gallagher.

The answer is unequivocally Martin Amis

Not even close, at least Noel tries to write nice lyrics, wtf is bukowski even doing??
This, but unironically
Drinking
What's with everyone suddenly loving Oasis? Is it just ironic?
Blocks ur path
Everyone simultaneously recognized how shite Blur were.
Norman Mailer.
Absolutely
Irvine Welsh
Bret Easton Ellis
Does he really?
It’s a cosmic force pushing back for a reunion. It also probably has something to do with Liam’s solo album over a year ago.
>it's another off-topic thread with the thin veneer of being on-topic
I'm getting really tired of these.
Oasis was unironically good. It's post-modern and faggy to hate them.
Please give a thorough index of all the amazing content you are contributing to this board.
I make threads that are actually about books.
Brendan Behan
Impressively witty for a working class drinker but not really all that deep.
Lazy pastiche of the best bits of superior artists?
David Foster Wallace
>suddenly
where have you been between 1994-1998?
I was a black man between those years
Maybe in a way this means that you're not pseuds, but you fags certainly don't know shit about pop music.
my diary desu
Oasis isn’t pop, shit for brains. They were the world’s last great international rock band.
faggot
oh i'm so sad and miserable i feel so alone i am a LOST CHILD and everything is over and i am crestfallen! oh woe is me!
tom is a sadsack whiny saddo la, i'm not havin that mopey shit act like a soppy whiny arse around me, i'm not havin that, fuck off with that la
greentext that top line
They're good sincere and sentimental rock
mancunian spotted
Arctic Monkeys? The Strokes?
They were Rembrandt’s level pop band. Nothing more.
The internet is kinda funny that way. All it really takes is one guy to say, "hey, I think x is cool" then people who agree with him will amplify the message, then people who aren't familiar with x will get into x then they will add to the discussion. It can be a long process or a short process. For example, a little while ago I saw a lot of chatter about Mount & Blade, probably because it was on sale on steam and some important guy started posting about it then more people caught on and so on
Oasis aren’t bad at all, but they’re far from phenomenal. This is just what happens when progressives apply Adornos ideas about culture into the culture industry. An entire western world starved for fun rock music sees one documentary made by Netflix and all of a sudden Oasis are talked about again. Radiohead isn’t much better (nod your heads along while I say the words “diet-Beatles), these are both tepid Rock bands for moms that wanted to be hip in the 90’s much less than whatever emptiness they invoke in our current year. For the love of god pick up a Brian Eno record or better yet leave your house and go see what’s happening in your city you cultureless faggots.
All that's happening in my city are absolute garbage acts. Atlanta has a shitton of artists but 95% are worthless trap rappers trying to make the next meme catchphrase or equally worthless Soundcloud mumble rappers. One of my best friends since childhood is the only genuinely talented musician I know, so I actually know a large portion of the second group through him, and they're all such twats.
Every time you go to one of their shows it's full of the exact same 50 people plus about 30 randos trying to score pills or their preferred genital, and they all look like they spend hours picking out the most "I accidentally fell into a Goodwill's trash" oh-so-eccentric outfit they possibly can to one-up each other. The one that sticks out to me was at the last show where some twink version of Mac Demarco "dj" who put on a silk pink button-up that he left open, a neon green fishnet shirt, shiny white skinny jeans, a fanny pack, and a belt buckle that said "SLUT."
I'm proud of my friend because since he actually knew music theory, could play about a dozen instruments, was good at putting on shows, and put a shitton of effort into his work for about a decade, he signed a record deal and is now living far away from these stupid pricks.
Netflix documentary. Also, they are a sincere rock band with 0.0% ironic / postmodern bullshit, so I guess it's kind of refreshing nowadays.
The girl who writes Twilight, because she shouldn’t write like the untalented Gallagher potatoes shouldn’t assault our ears with plebism
i don't like oasis much but radiohead is total garbage. at least oasis don't pretend to be "artists" lmao.
He is. Brittany Spears and Justin Bieber are to, it's not a high bar to cross
I dont care for oasis or Noel's new band, but Noel himself is - or has become - a top lad. His long form interviews or radio shows are great, better and funnier than any other celeb... just a pleasure to listen to.
try his interview with frank skinner, or his guest appearances on Russel Brands show.
Franzen I guess
and Trent Reznor is better than Tom Yorke
people have different tastes, brainlet
