Immanuel Kant, next.

I don't watch cartoons. I'm not a manchild.

Any ideas?

Sounds about right.

Probably Hitchens or one of those annoying "Devil's Advocate" types, if those can even be called philosophers.

Some edgy nihilist like Stirner or Nietzsche.

Hitchens wasn't a philosopher and I wouldn't say he was anything like rick either, aside from being an alcoholic atheist.

Rick is so based I don't get why this site doesn't like him, just imagine being so smart that you're literally a God, it would be absolutely kino.

The quote you're thinking of "if there's a god it's fucking me" is actually a basic luciferian principle and to drive that point home the "toxic" that takes over the world performs literal satanic inversion on a catholic mass and children's innocence. Rick is not actually an atheist.

I don't really care about it from a philosophical point of view, I just think the actual character is cool. It's refreshing to have a character who doesn't have issues stepping over people and being genuinely mean, whilst also being seemingly impervious to damage. He's like a superhero but without the gay 'responsibility' shit. I'm sure as a character he will eventually grow old, but for the meantime he is fun to watch.

Ahh, not so fast Morty. You heard Caitlyn Jenner, we’ve got acceptance to achieve Morty. Just you and me, and sometimes the president, and sometimes the supreme court but NEVER the legislature! You wanna know why Morty? Because they FEAR me.
>OK, take it easy, Rick! Th-that's dark.
Oh it gets darker Morty... Welcome to the darkest year of our adventures. First thing that’s different, no more representative government Morty. They threatened to vote against me in Congress, so I made your Congressman and the Senate go away...
>Ohhh fuck...
I repla-burp-ced them both with the defacto-platform of the progressives, AND the democrats.
>Oh man...
The left wouldn’t have accepted me if I wasn't an oppressed minority. So now you know the REAL reason I need everyone to know what's going on inside my bedroom!
>Ohhhh-woah...
I JUST TOOK OVER THE LEFT WING PARTY MORTY!
>Oh man.
And if you tell your Congressman or Senator I said any of this, I’ll DENY it.
>You'll deny it...
And they’ll take my side, because I’m in the hierarchy of intersectionality, Morty. And now you’re gonna have to do whatever I say, Morty, FOREVER! A-and I-I’ll go out date cis-gender people, without telling them, Morty.
>Wh-what are you talking about?
Because that’s, that's what this is all about Morty!
>Dating?
Th-that’s my one arm man. I’m not driven by equality
Morty, that was FAKE!
I-I’m driven by pronoun microagressions those, misgendering lawsuits.
>Lawsuits?
I want "Them" pronouns, Morty.
>Them?
That’s my supreme court Morty!
>What the Hell?
If it takes 9 justices, I WANT MY ACCEPTANCE,
>What're you talking about Rick?
ACCEPTANCE, TOLERANT ACCEPTANCE MORTY!
>What're you talking about?
TH-THAT’S WHAT'S GONNA TAKE US, ALL THE WAY TO THE END MORTY! JUDGE, 9 MORE JUDGES MORTY!
>Misgendering?!
9 MORE JUDGES UNTIL I GET THAT ZE/ZER PRONOUN!
>What is that?!
FOR 97 MORE YEARS MORTY!
>What are you talking about?!
I WANT THAT ACCEPTANCE!!!

Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

>a character who doesn't have issues stepping over people and being genuinely mean, whilst also being seemingly impervious to damage.
Every modern sitcom and adult cartoon has these same mean spirited characters that you described.
>I'm sure as a character he will eventually grow old, but for the meantime he is fun to watch.
They haven't. such characters have been around for at least thirty years. You're either too young or too dumb from watching tv to know it.

C.S. Lewis didn't watch cartoons, and he would consider you incurably puerile and pathetic for doing so. But nice try.

Pynchon watched cartoons :)

Not surprising given the sort of drivel he writes.

I don’t think so, I’m quite empathetic and emotionally-intelligent. I just like the character. Has very high-energy, is very Chad.

Dostoevsky, as told by the Underground Man.
