Ad Astra is Space KINO

The plot is a tiny bit like Apocaylpse Now but set against space and a brave new World-like society. Film looks great. Them feels when Tommy Lee Jones is a scared and sad old man I don't understand why Brad Pitt wasn't arrested for sneaking onto the ship and killing those people though. Maybe the people in power wanted to paint a nice narrative like they did with his dad? Thoughts?

Brad Pitt looks for his (previously assumed to be dead) dad Tommy Lee Jones who was meant to be a heroic astronaut but turns out that was a narrative pushed by the government. He actually went nuts and killed his team members who wanted to turn back on the mission, which was to look for life beyond Earth. Anyway he failed to find any and kills himself after Brad gets there and Brad decides life is worth living That's kind of it but I missed a lot of shit because I'm tired and can't be arsed talking about the finer details. I wouldn't even say what I described captures anywhere near the actual essence of the film
