ITT: Movies that demonstrate that RT is a piss awful review site.

Hard mode: nothing made in the past 5 years.

Percentage rating is shit. You can have 7.0 average movie with 30% RT rating and 6.5 movie with 80% score.

can you explain that shit to me? RT always confused me

Easily the most underrated sci-fi movie of the 90s. If it came out in 2009 and Nolan's name was attached to it people would be licking it's asshole.

Rotten Tomatoes is a piss poor site populated by plebs and paid shills masquerading as critics.

That didn't really clarify much if I'm honest

It shows percentage of reviews that rated the movie 6/10 or above. 5/10 movie is rated "rotten", must be 6/10 to get "fresh". And this is where is all goes into shit.

Imagine movie XYZ having 100 reviews. 80 of them rate a movie 5/10. 20 others give much higher score, lets say 9/10. Now the movie will end up with 20% and average score slightly somewhere around 6/10.
Now another movie ZYX, this time it gets 80 rewiews raing it 6/10 and 20 reviews with very low score, 3/10. Result will be 80% with avarge score also around 6/10.

So in theory we end up with two 6/10 movies but one of them is "rotten" at 20% andother one is certified "fresh" with 80%. That's why RT is absolute shit and shouldnt be taken seriously.

I can see why people might not like it though, its a really shortened remake of a long old German scifi film.

Oh wow lmao, I can't belive I used to check it before going to see a movie, no wonder I got fucked over more than once. Ty user

The site is populated by idiots. They have terrible taste in movies. They incapable of enjoying quality content. They enjoy trash. Its a great site for plebs and not a great site for patricians.

tldr: RT is a site for idiots. You aren't an idiot so you see its flawed perspective.

And by that you mean the critics or audience reviews? I'd agree on both

It was the victim of poor release timing. Came out at the same time as The Matrix.

RT isn't a review site

CAPESHIT. every new shit is 120%

>I can see why people might not like it though, its a really shortened remake of a long old German scifi film

Only redditors check RT anyway.

>i side with plebs
embarrassing

They have been doing that since early 2010s. When I was a college kid I would get fooled by these fake rt reviews every time and go watch the latest marvel trash, and it always turned out to be meh. Got wise after ant man and havent watched a disney movie since.

IMDB = Common sense
RT: Pedantic critics, enjoys "movies" like Brokeback Mountain or capeshit

>IMDB = Common sense
what????
every review is 1/10 or 10/10 and filled with mass produced fake accunts

It's bugged.

>checking reviews ever
honestly just go see movies that interest you personally don't go see something that is "in" right now

There are only two extremes on RT. "Fresh" or "rotten." Only problem is there are a fuckton of movies critics are completely lukewarm about. And RT is the supreme arbiter of wether a review is "fresh" or "rotten." So you can get a critic giving a movie a 3/5, saying it's not worth the viewing, and it still being a "fresh." Meanwhile you can get a critic giving it a 3/5, saying he still thought it was pretty good, and it getting a "rotten." All depends on how socially acceptable RT decides the movie is (or how much the production company pays in advertising).
Something like metascore is loads more accurate.

Easily the most unirionically watchable Uwe Boll movie
