The twist at the end was fucking lame
I thought it was actually going to be about first contact. Like with aliens with a descernable culture and technology you can actually vaguely comprehend. This was just dumb squid space magic with a sappy message at the end. My mom liked it but I was massively disappointed.

Get rid of some of this cliche dialogue and this movie would be so much better. Honestly the first time I watched this it seemed like I was already about to guess what the characters would say, then they would say what I was thinking and I started laughing when I wasn't supposed to.
Amazing isn't it? They took the idea of contact with aliens, and made it boring.
Took some serious effort I imagine

They mis marketed this film completely.
From the trailer, it looks like these aliens appear on Earth, then some humans talk to them, then you would think that there's gonna be some serious alien ass kicking, but nooo, not in this faggy film, where nothing actually happens.
The movie ended when i thought shit was starting.

Calling movies you don't like boring is not a legitimate critique.
Plot wise this movie was average. I think it's an interesting take on the "first contact" genre, but the ending was lackluster.
The cinematography was what saved the movie for me and kept me interested. The initial scene when they first get inside the ship was my favourite of the whole movie.
