You sure about that, OP? I noticed they were clearly filmed later because of some differences in appearance (notably Wolfhard's hair) but otherwise pretty sure there wasn't any CG. And I'm usually the first to notice that.

If I heard the movie correctly, Stan killed himself because he thought it would discourage them from all going back. He figured they'd all need to band together to defeat IT and that if one of them was dead, the situation would seem pointless and they'd choose to leave Derry behind.

Nah, the opposite, they were ready to leave anyway, so Stan just killed himself so they'd at least have some motivation in the way of "avenging" his death, that coupled with the fact he knew he'd be a weaker member of te team
